Sanctification is the goal of transformational preaching. In our sermons, we seek to restore the image of God in our listeners (Rom. 8:29). After all, wasn't the goal of Paul’s preaching to “present every man complete in Christ” (Col. 1:28)? If contemplation of Christ is how we are transformed into His image (2 Cor. 3:18), then sermons should point people to Him shouldn't they? Our people need to see Christ to become like Christ.
