Sermon preached by Pastor Russ in 2021 expounding on Peter's confession of the name of Christ. Matthew 16:13-20.
There’s Something in a Name
Sermon preached by Pastor Russ in 2020 based on Asaph's Psalm of Thanksgiving chronicled in 1 Chronicles 16:7-36.
The Working Clothes of Worship
In typical fashion, Jesus turns the definition of leadership on its head and provides the prime example by emptying himself and taking the form of a servant (Phil 2:7). Pastor Russ expounds on one of the most profound examples of leadership that Jesus gave during the last supper as one of his last lessons to the disciples recorded in John 13:1-17.
Descending Into Greatness
Pastor Russ takes an in depth look at the parable of The Pharisee and the Tax Collector in Luke 18:9-14 in which Jesus contrasts the pride and prejudice prayers of the religious elite with the penitence and perfection of the humble and contrite prayer of the sinner.
Pride, Prejudice, Penitence and Perfection
The Bible has much to say about the power of words and how, as Christians, our speech should be gracious (Col. 4:6), wholesome (Titus 2:8), and edifying (Eph. 4:29). However, God’s word also reveals the extreme danger of the tongue that has the potential to utterly corrupt our lives (James 3:6) and crush spirits (Prov 15:4). This sermon series gives practical guidance from God’s word on taming our tongues and reveals the seriousness of our words since men will be called to account for every careless word (Matt. 12:36).
The Power of Our Words
Prayer is one of the most fundamental aspects of the Christian faith and yet we often go to prayer as a last resort. Pastor Russ unpacks key scriptures that show us our need to make prayer a priority so that we might call on God’s supernatural power to unify His Church as we partner in the gospel.
Prayer - A Matter of Priority, Power, and Partnership
In this four-part sermon series, Pastor Russ teaches from 1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 on our roles and responsibilities for building and maintaining relationships in the Church. We will learn practical God honoring ways to show our love for one another by allowing the peace of Christ to rule in our hearts.
Real Responsibilities for Right Relationships in the Church
Pastor Russ unpacks Romans12:9-21 in this six-part sermon series that illuminates the characteristics and virtues of Christianity. These principles will encourage you to be an authentic Christian in all aspects of life and learn to exhibit the peace of God regardless of your circumstances.
